Mary T. Christensen, 82, passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Framingham, MA, the daughter of the late Edward Cunneen and Winifred (Burke) Cunneen and received her education within the Framingham school systems. She was the wife of Roy A. Christensen for 59 beautiful years and the mother of Arthur J. Christensen and his wife Jacqueline of Coventry, RI, Kathy A. Wheeler & her husband Russell Wheeler of Medway, MA and the late Linda Christensen. She also leaves behind her four grandsons, Scott & Stephen Wheeler of Medway and Marc & Matthew Petersen of Sandwich, and her brother Arthur J. Cunneen of Framingham. Her two sisters, Helen J. Rice & Margaret Wood preceded her in death.
Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, March 25, 2012 in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in Sandwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road, East Sandwich with burial following in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
