Doris Catherine Amundson, age 87, of Cameron, WI died Friday, August 6, 2010 at Monroe Manor in Barron. She was born July 4, 1923 to Oscar & Minnie (Skoug) Christianson in the Town of Dovre, Barron County, WI where she was raised and attended school. She graduated from Chetek High School and then went on to attend the Eau Claire Business College. She worked for a time as a cashier at Stevenson's Dept. Store in Eau Claire. On June 12, 1943, she was married to Roy Amundson at Dovre Lutheran Church and they farmed in the Town of Stanley east of Cameron for many years. Doris was also the Town Clerk from 1963-1987. She was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron and was active in the WELCA. She loved playing the piano and organ and also sewing, gardening, flowers and working in the yard.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Roy on November 29, 1999 & sisters: Alice Engstrom & Ardys Berg. She is survived by her daughter: Julie (Richard) Paine of Cameron, grandchildren: Michele (Darrell) Feltham of Vancouver, British Columbia & Brian Pirelli of Eau Claire, great grandchildren: Kathryn Asp & Zachary Feltham, brothers: Arden (Maxine) Christianson of New Richmond & Donald (Molly) Christianson of Eau Claire, sisters: Berdine Brown of Rice Lake & Mary Jane (Jim) Arndt of Spring Hill, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10 from Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron with Rev. Bruce Beyer officiating and interment in Faaberg Cemetery in the Town of Stanley, rural Cameron.
