Elizabeth "Bette" Anderson of Winger, Minnesota, died Sunday, December 3, 2000 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine.
Funeral services for Elizabeth were held at 2 pm. on Wednesday, December 6 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Winger, with the Rev. Robert Amundson officiating. Visitation was held from 5-8 pm. on Tuesday, December 5 with a 7 pm. prayer service led by the Rev. Ivan Wambheim at Calvary Lutheran Church. Interment was in the Winger Cemetery, Winger. Pallbearers were Anthony Stuhaug, Ben Lecy, Nick Lecy, Skyler Schimanski, Darin Faldet, Larry Bellefy and Dustin Faldet.
Elizabeth "Bette" Anderson was born on April 29, 1926 in Winger to parents Herman and Olga (Myhre) Christianson. She attended Wooded Park School near Winger, Mahnomen High School and graduated from Hillcrest Academy in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
She was united in marriage to Alfred Lecy on June 16, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She worked at Berge's General Store in Winger before being employed at the Farmers State Bank in Winger for 30 years.
Alfred preceded her in death, and on July 10, 1982, Bette was married to Russ Anderson in Winger. Russ died in 1992, and "Bette," as she was known, assumed his job of Winger City Clerk from 1992 until her retirement in 1998.
Bette is survived by one son, Tim (Karen) Lecy of Mahnomen; two daughters, Juanita (Chuck) Stuhaug of Erskine and Karen (Scott) Schimanski of McIntosh; one sister Mildred (Donald) Hansen of Erskine; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jim.
The Mattson Funeral Home of Mahnomen was in charge of the arrangements.
