My 4th great-grandmother, Rebecca Clare Baker, was born about 1776 possibly in Calvert Co, MD. Her parents were John (b. Mar 1754, in Calvert, Co, Md, d. about 1786) & Rebecca Selby Clare. John & Rebecca had 4 known children:
Sarah Clare b.? d.?
Rebecca Clare b. about 1776
John Clare b.? d.?
Isaac Clare b 25 Aug 1786, d. 3 May 1867

She married Manning Baker in St. Paul's Protestant Episcopal Church, Baltimore, Baltimore Co, MD, on 13 Sep 1796. They were married by Rev. Joseph G.J. Bend.

Manning was head of household and she was probably the female identified between the age of 16 & 25 listed in the 1800 Federal Census of All Saints Parish, Calvert Co, MD. Their sons: Nathaniel (b. 5 Jan 1798 d. 1865) and Issac (b. abt 1800 d. 23 May 1832) are not identified as being in the household so there may be an error by the enumerator. Daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) (b. 1797 d. 1821) was probably one of the 2 females under 10. Rebecca would have been the female 10-25.
