Harriet Betebenner was the daughter of Hezekiah and Martha M. Clark.

She married Benton E. Betebenner on October 31, 1867 in Richland County, Illinois by Rev. Henry E. Thomas.

Harriet and Benton had seven children: Florence C. (June 18, 1868); Benton Henry (September 8, 1872-April 21, 1940); Lulu Marthy (October 10, 1870-Bef. 1898); Hattie R. (July 24, 1874-Bef. 1898); Ernest C. (May 16,1879); Mabel J. (January 6, 1881) and Louis E. (July 27, 1887-Bef. 1898).
