Betty Lou Clark, 82, of Welch WV, passed away, Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Princeton Community Hospital, in Princeton, WV. Born March 29, 1935 in Welch, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harold Day Cottle (1907-1965) and Della Mae Lilly-Cottle-LeGrand (1909-1981).

She was a resident of McDowell County for the past 32 years, she was a member of the Havaco Community Church, and she was a lifelong Christian; a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Clark Sr. (1935-Deceased) whom she married on July 31, 1953 in Welch, McDowell County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, McDowell County, WV, 1953, Page 367, Application Date: July 27, 1953); two brothers, James Cottle (Deceased), and Orville Cottle (Deceased); twin sister, Shirley Sue Cottle-Sage (1935-2015).

Survivors include, three sons, James Edward “Eddie” Clark Jr. & wife Karen Clark of Welch, WV, Harold Carlisle Clark & wife Shannon Clark of Phoenix, AZ, Everett Thomas "Rink" Clark & wife Pam Clark of Hollister, CA; one daughter, Deborah Clark-Thomas and husband Timothy Thomas of Hayward, CA; special niece, Brenda Sledd of Bluefield, WV; several nieces and nephews; two special friends, Pat Mullins of Crumpler, WV, Shirley Belcher of Gary, WV; seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted, Monday, July 10, 2017 at 12:00 Noon from the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch, WV, with Pastor Dean Hatfield, and Pastor Lucille Soto officiating, burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV.
