Elizabeth Rebecca Clark, 88, an Idaho Falls resident for 65 years, died in an Idaho Falls rest home at 6:35 pm Wednesday.

She was born Oct. 28, 1877 at Canton, Ill., the daughter of James Hiam and Sarah Catherin McCan Emery. When she was 2 1/2 years old the family moved by covered wagon to Beatrice, Neb., where she grew up and attended school. for a period of time she taught school there.

Dec. 28, 1898 she married Homer G. Clark of Dillers, Neb. They farmed there for two years and in 1900 they moved to Idaho Falls where they have lived since. Mr. Clark was a rural mail carrier and Mrs. Clark served as a substitute mail carrier. She carried mail on all of the rural routes from the Idaho Falls Post Office.

She was one of the first members of the First Christian Church in Idaho Falls and was a charter member of the Idaho Falls Music Club also a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. She was interested in all civic activities. Mr. Clark died July 29, 1963.

She is survived by the following sons and daughters; Mrs. Walter (Grace) Dixon, Idaho Falls; Burt Clark, Pocatello; Mrs. Fred (Pearl) Blake, Lawndale, Calif.; Carrol Clark and Woodrow Clark, both of Weiser, Mrs. Emil (Beatrice) Zitlau, Woodland Hills, Calif. Two daughters, Lilly and Fern and a son, Clem, preceded her in death.

She is also survived by 20 grandchildren. Two grandsons were killed in the service, Courtland Blake in Germany in April of 1945; and Grant Clark, Oct. 30, 1965 in Vietnam. She is also survived by one brother, W. H. Emery, San Diego, Calif.
