ALBION - Leslie Coleman "Pal" Clark, 82, of Albion, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, with his wife Carol holding his hand. Pal made his journey to eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ following nearly a year-long journey with lung cancer and declining health. He was born on December 21, 1931, in Summerfield, New Brunswick, Canada, son of John D. and Catherine Green Clark.

He graduated from Besse High School in Albion, and went to work at Lee Brothers Construction Company shortly after. He worked for Lee Brothers for 48 years in many capacities including superintendent and foreman. He was very proud of being able to operate every piece of construction equipment and keeping the local roads plowed for many winters. In his retirement he enjoyed offering his expertise to numerous local construction companies.

He was member of the Fairfield United Methodist Church, and served there in many capacities. He will be remembered by his church family as the best greeter with the biggest smile and best hugs. He was a member of Central Lodge 45 AF & AM in China, and served on the Albion Volunteer Fire Department in his earlier years.

He volunteered countless hours to the Fairfield Interfaith Food Pantry, and Meals on Wheels.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Carleton Green, Ralph Green, Glen Clark, John Clark, George Clark and Francis "Mavor" Clark; and in-laws Elwood and Alice (Haskell) Knight.

Pal is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carol Knight Clark. They were married September 8, 1951, and began their family shortly after. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Barbara Knight, of Albion; children Sandra (Clark) and husband Lars Jonassen, of Albion, Brian Clark and wife Vicky, of Worcester MA, Steven Clark and wife Janice, of Eagle Pass, TX, and Cathy Clark and Sharon Arneson, of Allen TX. He was also blessed to have enjoyed time with his grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. They had the privilege of learning cribbage, dominoes, gardening, cooking, and to have fun in all you do from their Grampie and Great-Grampie. He and Grammie also spent countless hours attending sporting events and other extra-curricular activities to support their family. He also enjoyed getting to know the family of his new daughter-in-law, Vicky. Family was very important to Pal, and he will be fondly remembered by a large extended family of nieces, nephews and their families.
