Mrs. Lottie Blair, 82, died at her home here at 4:20 a.m., Wednesday,, November 22 (1950). She had been ill for several months. Her husband, the late Harrison Blair, preceded her in death several years ago. She was born August 25, 1868, in Johnson County, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.J. Clay. She had been a resident of Paintsville for the past 29 years, and was a member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving sons and daughters are: Thomas Blair, Paintsville; Mrs. Terie Nelson, Paintsville, Mrs. Erie Rich, Paintsville. Surviving stepsons and step-daughters are: Ulysses Blair, Leander; Bruce Blair, Dwale; Darius Blair, Volga; Crossford Blair, Win; Mrs. Goldie Van Hoose and Mrs. Veria Van Hoose, both of Paintsville. Also surviving are one brother and two sisters: Sam Clay, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Jane Picklesimer, Indiana; Dashia Clay, Paintsville. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 24, (1950) at the Third Street Freewill Baptist Church, city, with the Revs. Claude Preston, F.S. VanHoose, and C.C. Hall officiating. Songs were furnished by the Paintsville Quartette. Burial was made in the Mayo Cemetery, City, under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
