Barbara E. Albright, 88, of Springfield died at 12:20 a.m. Friday at St. John's Hospital.

She was born March 14, 1904, in New Berlin, the daughter of John W. and Barbara Lee Cody. She married George W. Albright in 1925; he died in 1954. Also preceding her in death were five brothers.

A resident of Springfield since 1924, Mrs. Albright was a clerk in the vital statistics department of the state Department of Health until retiring. A graduate of a practical nurses' school, Mrs. Albright was a Red Cross Nurse during World War II and a licensed practical nurse at St.
Joseph's Home.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America Madonna Court 148, St. Louise De Marillac Guild, St. Joseph's Home Coterie and American Association of Retired Persons. Mrs. Albright served as president and vice president of the Over 55 Club.

Surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
