Gangster. Peter and his brother Vincent became rumrunners for crime kingpin Dutch Schultz, making $150 a week each. Vince saw the job as a stepping stone. They had to learn the bootlegging craft and then either start their own operation or take over Schultz's. While still working as trusted gunmen for Schultz, the Coll brothers started splitting the Dutchman's operation, convincing some gangsters they would fare better with them. Peter and his brother Vincent decided that they would go into the bootlegging and loansharking business for themselves. They had excelled at breaking heads, maiming and killing anyone who stood in Schultz's way. Vincent informed Schultz that he wanted a piece of the beer racket. Schultz's replied a no, Peter and Vincent went on a rampage, they began hijacking Schultz's beer trucks until a war broke out. In May of 1931 a gunman for Schultz spotted Peter walking alone on a Harlem street and killed him, he lay on the street corner dead. Peter was 24 when he died.
