MANCHESTER

Margaret Collier was born in Hamilton county, O., Dec. 18, 1824, and was therefore 76 years of age at the time of her death, which occurred Thursday.

She united in marriage with William Baker March 7, 1842, and to them were born four sons and two daughters. Three sons, two daughters, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren survive. Mr. Baker died Sept. 9, 1889.

Mrs. Baker had been a member of the M. E. church almost 50 years. During her long illness, which lasted many weeks, she lingered between life and death. At times her sufferings were intense, yet she was ever patient, gentle and loving, always thinking of the comfort and happiness of those about her. Although everything was done to prolong her life, and loving hands ministered to her every need, the messenger finally came and bore her spirit beyond all earthly bounds.

The funeral was held Saturday at the residence, conducted by Rev. James Mendell of Wright’s Corner, after which the body was taken to Greendale cemetery for interment.
