Born in Dayton, Ohio in 1928, Mary Lou Gross came to California in 1947, fell in love and married Michael Grether Collins in 1949. Together they raised a closely bonded family that is a living testament to the loving way in which Mike and Mary Lou lived out their wedding vows. Her work as a registered nurse began in 1974, after she obtained her degree from Pasadena City College at age forty-six. She retired from LA County Probation Department in 1994.
Mary Lou Collins died December 31, 2009 at her home of fifty-seven years. She resided at 3195 Sunnyslope Boulevard in Pasadena, California at the time of her death.
Survived by her three children Kathy, Mike, and Rich, daughters-in-law Mary and Aleta, grandchildren Krista and Patrick.
Interment services at Calvary Cemetery will be private.
