Arthur Baber, 81, of Crescent City, died Thursday, April 18, 2002, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born April 6, 1921, to the late Frank and Lucy Collins in Tuskegee, Ala. He resided in crescent City since 1950. He attended the Pentecostal Full Gospel Church of Crescent City.
Survivors are his wife, Georgia Bell Baber, Crescent City; daughters, Ida (Oscar) Rogers, Georgia (John) Johnson, Rosa (A.J.) Jenkins, Irene (Nathaniel) Williams, Hattie Baber and Viola (Charles) Thomas, all of Crescent City, and Adell (Joe) Cobbs, Clearwater and Joanne Caldwell, Crescent City; sons, Will Baber, Crescent City, James (Janice) Baber, Jacksonville, and Amos (Sandra) Baber, Pierson; sisters, Rosa Mae Liegons and Cora Slayton, both of Tuskegee, and Dorothy Benjamin, Clearwater; brothers, Marion Brantley Sr. and Bobby Cooper; both of Crescent City; 34 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; 52 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday, April 27, 2002, at Walker's Chapel Church of God by Faith, Crescent City, with Elder Emanuel Roberts, pastor officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Seville.
