Mossie C. Bateman, age 90, of Sanford, Florida passed away May 30, 2011. She was born September 19, 1920 in Salem, Virginia to Cloud Ranson and Mary (Stultz) Collins, One of 7 children.

She was the owner and founder of Bateman Realty and a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Garden Club, Sweet Adelines and the Pilot Club.


Mossie is survived by a son, Donnie Wayne Taylor; two daughters, Sylvia Booth and Kaye Warner; step-son, Robert A. Bateman; 5 grandchildren - Robert Taylor, Richard Taylor, Cloud Taylor, Michael Taylor (Fatherd by Donnie Wayne Taylor - Mothered by Shirley) & Kandi Ranson (fathered by her son Donnie Wayne Taylor & ? Hobby) and 5 great grandchildren. 3 of the great grandchildren are Trashelle Ann Price, Heather Lynn Price and Roy David Price Jr. (Mothered by Kandi Ranson - Fathered by Roy David Price, Sr.)


Brother - Donnie Whit Collins, 76, of Eden, N.C., formerly of Salem, VA - Born February 14, 1927 in Salem, Va. United States Navy veteran, and a retired supervisor with Miller Brewing Company. died Tuesday night, December 30, 2003, at Morehead Memorial Hospital. Married to Norma Wright Collins.

Nephews - Donald Wright Collins, David Warren Collins, and Paul Andrew "Andy" Collins & Darryl Scott Collins (all children of of Donnie Whit Collins)

Sister - Olive Ann C. Faulkerson of She was born in Salem on March 6, 1915. went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 30, 2008. she was a daughter of the late C.R. and Mary Witt Collins. She was preceded in death by five brothers. She was a pioneering registered nurse, helping establish the first Coronary Care Intensive Care Unit located at Roanokes Community Hospital in the 1960s. She was a graduate of Jefferson Hospital and the University of Virginia School of Nursing. She met and married the love of her life, Robert Clark Faulkerson in Baltimore, Md., on May 25, 1940. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1971.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Vitas Hospice.
