A native of Fulton, New York, she was born March 30, 1936, to the late Frank and Gertrude Rowlee Colosimo. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Elizabeth Tucci, Helen Palmer, Marion Ellis and Marguerite Jenkins and two brothers, Frank Colosimo Jr. and Robert Colosimo.
She graduated from New York State University at Albany, where she received her teaching degree. She eventually moved to Long Island, New York, where she lived for 33 years. She taught business at Patchogue-Medford High School for 25 years, until she retired in
1992. She was the Assistant Deca Advisor, formed the Future Business Leaders of America Chapter, served as Yearbook Advisor for seven years, was Business Teacher of the Year for several years, Past President
of the Suffolk County Business Teachers Association and member of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.
She and her husband then moved to Riceville, Tennessee, where she enjoyed working on the farm. She was a member of the Sping Creek Church of Christ, doing the church bulletin and had attended the
Church of Christ in Patchogue, New York. She was active in various clubs and organizations during her retirement, including past-member
of the Luncheon Pilot Club of Athens and Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Society.
Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, Donald P. Bindrim,Sr. of Riceville, TN; two sons, Donald P. Bindrim Jr. and his wife, Dawn
of Riceville, TN and Christopher Bindrim and his wife, Marie of Athens,TN; a special niece and her husband, Bette and Paul Hebert of Syracuse,NY; several other nieces and nephews; and close friends from her various and diverse circles of friends.
Memorial services were held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, in the funeral home chapel.
