Buffalo Evening News, Tuesday, June 10, 1884:
The remains of Miss Kate Comstock Blair, aged 33, a daughter of the late Judge Harlow L. Comstock of Canandaigua and a sister of Mrs. John S. Rockwell of Angelica, were brought here from Havana, N. Y., yesterday, to be interred in the family burial lot at Warsaw.

Havana Journal, Saturday, June 14, 1884:
Mrs. Kate Comstock Blair, wife of Mr. D. C. Blair, and daughter of Judge H. L. Comstock of Canandaigua, died in Havana, after a brief but painful illness, June 5, 1884. The very sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. Blair has cast a deep gloom over our entire village, and awakened serious thought of death and eternity. Various causes combining tend to make this a very rare affliction. A lovely home is broken up, a husband is early bereaved of his companion, and a tender infant of a few brief days, is motherless. Mrs. Blair was born and spent the early part of her life in Warsaw, Wyoming Co., N.Y. There, when quite young, she professed faith in Christ, and united with the Presbyterian church, of which her parents were honored members. Some 15 years since, Judge Comstock changed his residence to Canandaigua. Here he and his family, with others, organized the First Presbyterian church of his adopted town. In that work, Judge Comstock and family took a leading part, and Mrs. Blair is remembered as having been very active and efficient. Nearly 6 years ago she was united in marriage with our esteemed townsman, Mr. D. C. Blair, and came at once to reside in Havana, where her husband was employed as Agent of the N. C. Railroad. Her death was so sudden and unexpected that none of her kindred were present to receive her last farewell. Her mother was on her way here but arrived too late; the casket pale and broken, was all that remained. Her two sisters were too far away to think of getting here in time.
