WHITEWRIGHT -- Captola Conner Andrew, 90, of 510 S. Carter St., Whitewright passed away, Thursday, July 3, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with lung disease.

Mrs. Andrew was born on July 16, 1917 in Pilot Grove in Southeast Grayson County, the daughter of the late Arthur Lee Conner and Fannie Sumner Conner. On July 18, 1936 she married J. W. Andrew in Pilot Grove. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1992. She was a homemaker all of her life and a member of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Connie L. Andrew of the home; a daughter, Joan Andrew West of Currituck, N.C.; a sister, Martha Jo Marler of Rockwall; a brother, L. V. Conner and his wife Ruth, of Arnold, Neb.; sisters-in-law, Edith Conner of Texarkana, Texas, Cathrin Conner of Borger, Alice Conner of Arnold, Neb., and Frances McCormick of Leonard. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Pamela West of Currituck, N.C., Jason Andrew and wife Angela of Whitewright, and Jill Andrew of Denison; four great-grandchildren, Kolby Jace Andrew, Bree Andrew, Jayden Andrew, Clara Captola Andrew and Alexis Jennings and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Donovan "Red" Conner, J. B. Conner and Billy Ray Conner.

The family will receive friends from 7 -8 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008 from at Earnheart Chapel in Whitewright. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 11 at Pilot Grove Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Rev. Rodney Stanford.

A special thanks to the entire staff at Sher-Den Home Health of Sherman for the wonderful care given during her long illness and also to the Hospice Center of Sherman for your care and concern. You treated her as if she were your own mother and for this, the family is most grateful.
