Funeral Services for Marie Conner Bowles will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2nd at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service. Marie passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at River Valley Health and Rehab Center at the age of 85.

She was born in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, December 23, 1929 to the late Abra and Theresa (Crochet) Conner. Marie was a 1948 graduate of Lake Charles School of Nursing, graduating as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Marie dedicated her life to helping others, working for many years at the Gainesville Memorial Hospital in the emergency room and operating room, retiring in May 1997. She was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Patti Sicking; grandsons, Matthew Sicking and Blake Sicking and wife, Jessica; granddaughter, Lynzee Sicking; sister-in-law, Joy Bowles Woods; brother-in-law, Arthur Davis; sister-in-law, Ruth Conner; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Cole, Ryan Sicking, Chase Reed, Hannah Sicking and Caleb Sicking and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James C. Bowles; Brothers, Alvin Conner, Allen Conner,, Adam Conner,, Harry Conner,, Albert Conner,, Paul Conner, and Earl Conner and sisters, Annabelle Davis, Alice Guidry and Helen Peloquin.
