Mrs. Alex R. Connolly Dies After Few Hours Illness

Mrs. Ella T. Connolly, of 1816 S. Fifth St., died at 6:30 p.m. yesterday at St. John's hospital following an illness of only a few hours. She entered the hospital at 8:50 a.m. yesterday. She was 77 years old.

Mrs. Connolly was born March 10, 1878, in Springfield, a daughter of Thomas and Bridget Sheehan. She married Alex R. Connolly April 28, 1909 in Springfield.

Mr. Connolly, a Springfield Insurance man many years, operates his own real estate and insurance business with offices at 104 1/2 Sixth St.

Mrs. Connolly was a member of the Cathedral of the Altar and Rosary society of the cathedral.

She was also a member of the Springfield Lioness club and had been active in both church and club work.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Devlin, Mrs. Margaret Factor, Mrs. Joseph Fortune, Sr., and one brother, James T. Sheehan, all of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews. Remains were taken to the Kirlin & Egan funeral home.
