SPRINGFIELD -- Byron F. "Barney" Connolly, 90, of Springfield died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 20, 1908, in Springfield, the son of Thomas and Anna DeCroix [sic] Connolly.
He married Martha M. Krebs in 1930; she died in 1983.
Mr. Connolly, a lifelong resident of Springfield, retired in 1974 from George Otto Boiler Company where he was employed as a boilermaker. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Eagles, Anchor Boat Club and Boilermakers Union in Belleville.
Survivors: several nieces and nephews, including Jerome (wife, Juanita) Moore of Springfield; and several cousins.
Services: 9 a.m. Monday, Staab Funeral Home, the Rev. Kevin Laughery officiating.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
