Janice L. Bainbridge, 78, of Batavia, Ill., formerly of Geneva, Ill., and Dubuque, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at the Holmstad, Batavia.
Services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 Main St., Batavia, with Monsignor Daniel Deutsch officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St., Geneva, where the rosary will be recited.
She was born on Aug. 9, 1933, in Dubuque, daughter of Sylvester and Bernadette (Dunn) Connolly. Janice graduated from high school in Dubuque and later moved to Geneva.
She worked for Geneva Kitchens and for many years as a proofreader for Republic Printing from where she retired.
In her free time, Janice enjoyed playing golf and bridge with her friends and working in her garden.
Surviving are her daughter, Christine (Bruce) Bashaw; grandsons, Ryan (Linda) Bashaw and Michael Bashaw, both of Batavia; sisters, Mary Ann Holland, of Ohio, Margaret Fromknecht, of Las Vegas, and Agnice (Ted) Jaeger, of Iowa; brothers, Sylvester (Wendy) Connolly and William Connolly, both of Iowa; along with many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lyle, who passed away in 1999; her parents; a stepbrother, Gary Hutter; brothers-in-law, John Fromknecht and Lee Holland; and sisters-in-law, Judy Connolly and Mary Connolly.
