SHOCK OF SON'S DEATH IS FATAL
TRAGIC END OF JOHN HAYES UNNERVED MOTHER.

BELOIT, Wis., June 22 --Mrs. Margaret Hayes, the oldest and one of the most respected citizens in South Beloit, died this morning at 9:50 o'clock at their home, 24 Rockton road. It is said her sickness dated from the time of hearing of her son's tragic death after the latter was shot, by ex-Officer Fred Janvrin March 30.
Mrs. Hayes' maiden name was Margaret Conon, and she was born in Clare county, Ireland. In 1828 and after marrying Patrick Hayes, removed of this county and settled in Richfield, Wis. Soon after, however, in 1862, Mr. and Mrs. Hayes came to this city, making their home in South Beloit. There the family has made its home ever since and for almost fifty years has lived on the same spot. Mr. Hayes preceded his wife to the grave by five years and was buried in the Catholic cemetery in this city.
Mrs. Hayes is survived by four children: Mrs. Mary Kelly and Dennis Hayes who live at the home in Rockton road, Thomas, at 314 Shirland avenue and Joseph, who lives in Water street, Beloit. She was an aunt of Dr. Dennis Hayes, a prominent Milwaukee physician.
Mrs. Hayes was a member of St. Thomas Catholic church and the funeral services will be held from there. Fuller arrangements will be announced later.
The passing away of Mrs. Hayes marks the third time that death has entered the Hayes home since August last, at which time Margaret, a daughter, died. John Hayed died March 31.
