Carolyn "Cal" Blodgett, 82, of Wheaton, Ill., formerly of Edwardsville, died Friday, Feb. 28, 1986, at 10:30 p.m. in Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, Ill.

She was born Feb. 28, 1904, in Belleville, a daughter of the late John and Bertha Gantner Considine.

She married Darrell R. Blodgett, who survives and lives in Wheaton.

Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Sheila Blodgett of Springfield, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. B.L. (Barbara) Shaikh of Wheaton, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Pearl Considine (in infancy), Florence Parker and Birdie Dorr; and a brother, Joseph Raynor "Mike" Considine.

Mrs. Blodgett was a 1925 graduate of Shurtleff College, Alton, and became a teacher in the Edwardsville area. She was a member of Gary Memorial United Methodist Church, Wheaton.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 2, at Hanerhoff-Hultgren Funeral Home, Wheaton, with the Rev. Robert A. Dahl of Gary Memorial United Methodist Church, Wheaton, officiating.

Burial took place Monday, March 3, in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville.
