Mr. Cook was born Oct. 12, 1917, in Yoncalla and was raised in Portland. He graduated from Jefferson High School. During World War II, he was a civilian cargo plane navigator in the Pacific. He worked in commercial aircraft communications in Hawaii, Chicago and Long Island, N.Y., and retired to Harlingen, Texas, in the early 1980s. He moved to Panama City earlier this year. In 1935, he married Martha B. Thompson; they divorced in 1952. He married Rosemary Mendonca in 1954; she died in 1993.
Survivors include his sons, Dennis of Germantown, Md., Douglas of Atascadero, Calif., and David W. of Huntington, N.Y.; daughter, Lisa Nazworth of Valdosta, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will be in River View Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Panama City.
