Mrs. Bretscher was a wonderful mother and grandmother and is survived by her husband, Carl; children Michael (wife Luz) Bretscher, and Carla (husband Brian) Goebel, grandchildren Victoria and Michael Bretscher and Travis and Alex Moore all of Chatham, brother Donald Cook of Springfield and sister Wilma (husband Cecil) Allen of Virden several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will greet friends from 4-7pm, Wednesday, September 1, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Her funeral will be held at Staab Polk Memorial Home, Thursday, September 2, at 10 am. Reverend Clarence Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Sangamon Area 17 Special Olympics 413 E. Adams St., Springfield, IL 62705.
