Mrs. Fannie Adams, 77, widow of James Adams, died at her home on West 7th Street Tuesday night. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock followed by burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery near the city. Mrs. Adams is survived by two grandchildren: Clarence Gahan and Nellie Hayes. Mrs. Adams was highly respected by a host of friends.
Left a widow with two small grandchildren to care for with only the small pension paid her by the government as a soldier's widow, her struggle was a hard one to sustain life and rear the children to a respectable manhood and womanhood. She was one of the unsung heroes one rarely meets up with in life's journey.
