STREATOR - Pamela Jean Cook, 57, of South Elgin, formerly of Streator, died Wednesday afternoon, March 7, at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home in Streator with Rev. Mark Upchurch officiating. Burial will be later in Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Streator. Visitation will be from noon until time of services.

Ms. Cook was born Sept. 9, 1949, in Streator, to Peter and Norma (Clark) Cook. She married Sid Adel on Feb. 2, 1980, in Malaga, Spain.

She served in the Peace Corps in Senegal, Africa, as a teacher for three years and later worked at the Naval Academy in Tehran, Iran. She was a financial planner for Ameriprise Financial. She was a 1967 graduate of Streator Township High School, received a bachelor's degree from Illinois State University and a master's degree from Southern Illinois University.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Alexander and Matthew Adel, both of South Elgin; her parents of Streator; and a sister, Debra Fulton of Streator.

She was preceded in death by a brother, David C. Cook.
