"The funeral of George W. Cooper was held at the Cooper home near Westford, February 21st, and was largely attended by friends and neighbors. The services were conducted by the Rev. T. F. Hall of Cooperstown. Mr. Cooper was born near Cooperstown in 1855, and moved to Westford with his parents when he was six years old. He was a man of a kind and genial nature, and very much attached to his family. He is survived by three sisters, who have the sympathy of a host of friends in their bereavement. The body was placed in the vault at Schenevus, to await final interment in the family plot at Lakewood cemetery, Cooperstown." [The Otsego Farmer & Republican (Cooperstown, NY), Feb. 24, 1922]
