Mrs. Mary Copley Bartram, 72, of Fort Gay, Route 2, died Sunday morning at her home following a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carmie Thompson of Fort Gay, Route 2, with the Rev. Herman Ross officiating. Burial was in the Copley Cemetery on Route 2. Born March 21, 1894, in Wayne County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Thomas l. and Emma Wilson Copley. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Willie Bartram; two other daughters, Mrs. Irene Chaffin of Louisa and Mrs. Ivory Thompson of Fort Gay; two sons, Alvis Bartram of Cleveland, OH and Claude Bartram of Wooster, OH; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The body was taken from the Curtright Funeral Home to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carmie Thompson, where it remained until funeral time. Big Sandy News, June 30, 1966
