Annette Copley Barnes, 78, died on Sept. 5, 2008, at Niobrara Health and Life Center in Lusk.

She was born on June 26, 1930, in Walsenburg, Colo., to Oscar and Lila (Smith) Copley. She attended Arvada High School in Arvada, Colo., and the Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colo.

On March 24, 1950, she married Don Barnes.

They moved to Lusk, with their three children in 1964.

She stayed at home with their children until 1975, when she went to work at the Lusk State Bank as a bank teller.

She was active in her church, where she served on many committees.

She was also an active member of P.E.O. Chapter I, Lusk and held many offices, including local and state president.

She loved Lusk and her large and loving group of friends.

She enjoyed playing bridge, visiting her grandchildren, gardening and traveling.

She is survived by her son, John Barnes and his wife of Gillette.; daughters and their spouses, Jill Bramlet of Wheatland; and Jennifer Amend of Riverton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, John Copley of Spokane, Wash.; and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Barnes; her sisters, Clarice Joy Copley and Marjilyn Drysdale; and her parents, Oscar and Lila Copley.

Annette Copley Barnes, 78, died on Sept. 5, 2008, at Niobrara Health and Life Center in Lusk.
