NEGAUNEE, Mich. - A. Clare Annelin, 85, a resident of Eastwood Nursing Center, died peacefully with her family by her side at 10:55 AM on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.

Clare was born September 25, 1926 in Ishpeming to Charles and Grace (Shaver) Cornish and was a graduate of Ishpeming High School, Class of 1945. On October 19, 1948 she married Donald Annelin of Negaunee. They immediately made their home in North Chicago, IL. After Don's retirement in 1979 they returned to Negaunee.

Mrs. Annelin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Negaunee where she was a former member of the Miriam Circle. While Clare lived in North Chicago she was an active member of the Eagles Auxiliary, having served as President.

After Don passed away, Clare moved to the Woodland Assisted Living Facility and was involved with many activities held there. She moved to Eastwood Nursing Center in May of 2012.

Clare is survived by her brother, Charles Cornish of Ishpeming, a sister-in-law Marge Annelin of Midland, a brother-in-law Vernon (JoAnn) Annelin of Cooks, a sister-in-law Karen (Rich) Wertanen of Florence, WI, a sister-in-law, Judi Dobi of Negaunee, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and her special niece and caregiver, Bobbie Hartman. Clare was preceded in death by her husband Don, sisters: Margaret (William) Skewis, Alice (Jim) Moyle, Mary (Ellsworth) Lerlie, sister-in-law, Mary Cornish, brothers-in-law, Richard and William Annelin.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Marcia Solberg officiating. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Terry Kutchie, Bill Hartman, Harvey Wise, David Lerlie, Curt Cornish, and Richard Moyle.
