Dorothy Mae Coward Addy, 84 of Powderly, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at her home. Dorothy was born February 23, 1930 in Lamar County, a daughter of Johel Brock and Mary Lou Crawford Coward.

She married Gene Edward Addy on February 4, 1950 in Arkansas. She was employed by Sears and also was a caregiver in later years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, great-grandson, Samuel Mark Addy, five brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by children, Andy Addy, Mark Addy and wife Kelly, Sue Gray and Thea Cherry and Sondra Cook, thirteen grandchildren, Angie Simmons, Rodney Looper, Anthony Addy, Christopher Addy, Jason Askue, Casey Cook, Eric Addy, Zach Looper, Travis Gray, Melissa Addy McCoin, Alex Addy, Derek Crawford and J.J. Crawford and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow at Red Hill Cemetery.
