She was born on April 18, 1930 in Augusta, the daughter of Harry and Ina (Wilson) Cowdery. She married Troy "Junior" Bilderback on Sept. 4. 1948, in the home of her cousin in Center, Mo. He survives.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Mary Jo Wood (Gary) of Springfield; one grandson, Todd Jacob Wood (Bree) of Springfield; and a great-granddaughter, Kylinn Mary Wood of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lawrence Cowdery.
Mary attended grade school at West Union School and was a graduate of Augusta High School. She and her husband moved from West Point to Quincy in 1967, where she was employed for a time at Motorola and Sears. In 1973 she began work in the Adams County Circuit Clerks Office retiring in 2004, after 31 years of service.
She was enthusiastic about life, enjoying her Bunko group, crafts, her dear family and many friends, and her kitty, Princess.
Funeral services were held on Thursday Sept. 2, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta, with Rev. Tom Mehaffy officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Augusta.
Visitation was Wednesday evening, Sept 1 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy, and Thursday Sept. 2 until time of services at the funeral home in Augusta.
Memorials may be made to the Kylinn Mary Wood Educational Fund or to the Blessing Cancer Center.
