Bloomfield Cemetery is located just east of Montclair in the town of Bloomfield. It was founded c. 1790-1810 by members of the Ball Family, who donated 5 acres of land for burials to the town's Presbyterian Society. It includes a very old section once known as the "Bloomfield Burial Ground."

Cemetery was established 1830's as the Old Montclair Burying Ground on Church Street in Montclair, but the Ball family sold it to the Presbyterian Church, and became known as the Bloomfield Cemetery. The Presbyterian Church is several blocks away and does not have a cemetery. Today, it is the Rosedale, a beautifully landscaped, active cemetery with many Victorian monuments in Orange, NJ, the town which borders Montclair on the south.
