Mrs. Edith Buck (nee Crane), a well known pioneer woman of Hopewell township, passed away last Friday night after a brief illness, aged 84 years. Her death was due to paralysis, resulting from a stroke sustained on the 2nd inst. Her husband died several years ago. Surviving her are four children – Mrs. Ida Rhodes, Frank, Harr and A. R. Buck, and two sisters, Mesdames John Tilton and John F. Hight. Funeral services were held at the Stringtown church last Sunday, Rev. C. S. Johnson performing the sad rites.
