Ex-Resident Dies Suddenly

Betty Marie Cranston, 21, Was at Family Home Near Winfield.

Miss Betty Marie Cranston, 21, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Cranston, route 4, Winfield, died suddenly at 6:30 o'clock Saturday evening at her home following a heart attack.

Miss Cranston was born in Winfield, Jan. 31, 1922, and lived on the family farm ten miles east of Winfield all her life. She was graduated from the Winfield high school in 1939 and from the Arkansas City junior college in 1941. For the past year she had been employed at Beech Aircraft company in Wichita. She was a member of the First Methodist church of Arkansas City.

Funeral Wednesday.
Survivors include her parents, nine brothers and sisters: Carroll Cranston, of Atlanta, Kas., Wayne and Lyle Cranston of Winfield, Major George Cranston of Fairbanks, Alaska, Leland Cranston of the home, Mrs. W.H. Monroe of Anacortes, Wash., Mrs. Clarence Sumner of Winfield, Mrs. Theodore C. Stafford of the home and Mrs. Myron Fields of Lincoln, a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the First Methodist church in Winfield. Burial will be in Highland cemetery.
