Lifelong Staten Island resident Charlene Crimmins, 46, of Dongan Hills, the owner of a sandwich shop and a limousine service, died Friday at her home following a short illness.

Born Charlene Gardella on Staten Island, she graduated from Richmondtown Preparatory High School and went on to study at Wagner College and the College of Staten Island. She earned an associate's degree in business and worked for a short time in the garment industry before opening her own business, "Stop Sandwich Shop." She was also the proprietor of Exotic Limousines.

Mrs. Crimmins was a homemaker and her children were her pride and joy. She enjoyed annual trips to Lake George, cruising to the Caribbean, and boating with her family. Also, she took motorcycle rides with her husband.

Mrs. Crimmins' pet cocker spaniel, Sadie, was always by her side. As she took pride in her home, other hobbies included gardening, baking, and cooking.

Mrs. Crimmins will be remembered as a compassionate friend who made every one laugh and lit up every room she walked into. She loved nothing more than spending time with her friends and family.

Surviving are her husband of nineteen years, Robert; son, Robert; a daughter, Mary; brothers, Charles, Gary, and Warren Gardella; and two sisters, Anna Deppe and Maureen Cavaliere.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday from the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Eltingville, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Huguenot.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
