Joan Mary Cheney (née Cubitt) passed away peacefully with her life partner Len Trottier by her side on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the age of 84.

She was born in Chelmsford, Essex, England on November 26, 1922, the middle child of three girls. Joan served with the Royal British Air Force as a radio technician during the Battle of Britain in England during WWII. She cherished fond memories of working as a cook on a Maintenance Gang for the Canadian Pacific Railway, and took good care of her "boys".

Joan will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her life partner, Len Trottier; children Linda (Bill) Boprey, Jim (Lynn) Cheney, Donna (David) Lorette, Desiree White and extra daughter Jean Ann Lepard; sisters Kath Johnson and Doris a.k.a. "Pud" Curtis, both of England; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild as well as extended relatives. She is predeceased by her son-in-law Vernon Toomer and her beloved Boo.
