While searching for my husband's ancestors in Paintsville, Kentucky we decided to check this cemetery for possible relatives. A really nice man named Mr. Ratliff came to the cemetery while we were there and told us most of the people in this cemetery were relatives of his. He walked over to this headstone and told us this young man's name was Alonzo "McCuffey" and said the young man had drowned in the water just below the cemetery when he was caught up in the rushing, swirling water that pulled him under.
