Alice V, (Cullinan) Blanchard , 93, entered into eternal rest AUGUST 1, 2009 AT Jewish Nursing Home of Longmeadow, MA Born in Springfield,MA on June 10,1916, the daughter of the late John and Susan (McCarthy) Cullinan , formerly of County Clare ,Ireland. She was a 1934 graduate of Cathedral High School and a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Church. A mother of six children, she also had worked at the former Springfield Institution for Savings Bank for 13 years. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a son Richard Blanchard in 1998. Along with her beloved husband, Richard Blanchard of 72 years, Alice is survived by her son John Blanchard and his wife Sandra of Yarmouthport, MA, son Vincent Blanchard and his wife, Betty of East Longmeadow, MA, son James Blanchard of Rocky Hill, CT, a daughter Ann Yenian and her husband Charles of Wilbraham, MA ,son Michael Blanchard of Feeding Hills, MA, a daughter -in-law, Katherine Blanchard of Warren, MA. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours are Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 5-8pm at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Rd. Springfield, MA. Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 8;30am at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home to be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Hope Church, 577 Carew St Springfield, MA concluding with Rites of Committal and Burial at St. Michael's Cemetery 1601 State St. Springfield, MA.
