Obituary published in the Corpus Christi Times on May 2, 1952, as follows:

"C. P. Cullinan, Fingerprint Expert, Dies at Home Here.

Charles Patrick Cullinan, 63, fingerprint expert in the office of Sheriff John Harney, died at 2 a.m. today in a local hospital after a long illness. He lived at 312 Katherine Drive.

Born in Scotland. Cullinan was born in Kilwinning, Scotland, March 1, 1889. He received his early education in Scotland and came to the U. S. when he was 21 years old to make his home with relatives in Boston. He later moved to Pittsburgh, Pa.

When WWI was declared, he volunteered for Army Service and was sent to Camp Scurrey near Corpus Christi with the 5th Engineers for training. He remained with the engineers during his duty overseas.

Returning to Corpus Christi after the war, he was married here Oct. 26, 1919, to Miss Hattie Reioux. Cullinan was employed as a U. S. engineer and worked on the first survey here for a deep water channel. Later, he became a fingerprint expert and worked for the City of Corpus Christi in that capacity under the Giles administration. When Haney was elected sheriff, he went to that county.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the B&P Post No. 5398 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are his wife, Hattie; and four brothers and four sisters, all residing in Scotland and Ireland.

The body will be taken to the residence at 6:30 p.m. today by the Dunne Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at the residence of 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church at 9:30 a.m. Saturday."
