BLACKMON Estelle Cunningham Blackmon, October 25, 1920 November 4, 2012, a native of Monroe County, AL, residing in Mobile, AL for over 70 years was the eldest of Caldwell Cunningham, Sr., and Viola Watson Cunningham's seven children. She was a faithful member of Saint James Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Nurse's Aide, the Vocal Choir, and the Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tommy Blackmon; two daughters, Essie Blackmon Buskey and Mary Blackmon Franklin; two grandchildren, Marion Franklin and Cynthia Franklin Gould; two sisters, Lebell Cunningham, Artherine C. McMillan; three brothers, Lephate Cunningham, Caldwell Cunningham, Jr., and Alexander Cunningham. "Dear", as her chidren and grandchildren affectionately called her, was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was an outstanding cook and often delighted her family and friends with delicious meals and pastries.
Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery.
