Elizabeth Anway, daughter of Sylvester and Eliza (Wilkinson) Cunningham, was born near Aurora, Cayuga county, N.Y., April 7, 1844, and came to Ohio, with her parents in 1856. She was married to Sidney J. Anway, Dec. 23, 1869. To this union one son, Frank L. was born. She died at her home, two miles southeast of Republic, April 22, 1893, aged 49 years and 15 days. The funeral was held at her late home, Monday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. D.D. Bigger, of Tiffin, officiating. A large number of relatives and friends were in attendance at the funeral. Paul (sic) bearers were J. E. Anway, of Chicago, A.F. Anway, W.H. Anway, M.H. Anway, J.L. Anway and Fred Anway, all relatives of the deceased. Charles Cunningham, brother of the deceased, who resides in Osborne, Kansas, was unable to be present at the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Anway of Chicago, O., Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Ogden, of Attica, Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Smith and Mrs. Eddie Bogart, of Tiffin, attended the funeral. Mrs. Anway leaves hosts of relatives and friends to mourn her death. The remains were interred in Farewell Retreat cemetery.
