Mary G. Cusick, 89, of Chicopee, Mass. passed away on March 20, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2011 at St. Denis Church, 157 Washington Street, Westwood, MA. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery in Bourne, Mass. Mary was born in Springfield, Mass. to Michael and Caroline Lyons on July 4, 1921. She went to school at Holy Name High School in Chicopee, Mass. She graduated from Westfield State College. She married Bartholomew Cusick on November 8, 1943 in Chicopee, Mass. The family lived in Germany and Okinawa and other state side military bases during Bart's military career. She was a teacher for Ayer Public Schools until her retirement. She was actively involved in the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Bartholomew Cusick and her brother, Timothy Lyons. Mary is survived by her sons Bartholomew Cusick III, Timothy (Nona) Cusick, Michael (Barbara) Cusick and Christopher (Valarie) Cusick as well as her brothers John (Virginia) Lyons and James (Kris) Lyons. Mary also is survived by 6 grandchildren: Bart Cusick, Mary Frances Cusick, Christy Cusick, Sean (Sarah) Cusick, Ryan Cusick and Megan Cusick. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.
