A veteran of the US Navy, Jerry retired from Ford Motor Company after a 30 year career working at the Edison, NJ, Assembly Plant. He enjoyed a long retirement whereby he traveled extensively, spent many years engrossed in exploring his family geneaology, and pursued a variety of other hobbies and interests. Jerry was a music fan, loved following his sports teams, and enjoyed many leisurely hours with family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Marguerite Fischer Dafoe. Also survived by son, Stephen Dafoe, and daughter-in-law, Suzanne Niekrasz, of Millstone Township; daughter, Danielle Jo (Dafoe) Stoddard of Old Bridge; granddaughter, Veronica (Stoddard) Hage and her husband, Shane Hage, of Old Bridge; grandson, Kevin Stoddard and his wife, Michelle (Pagano) Stoddard, of Jackson; great-grandchildren, Shane, Alexander and Charlotte Hage, and Maggie Stoddard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Cremation was private, under the direction of the Cremation Services of Central New Jersey, East Brunswick, NJ.
