Horace Hughes Daniel, 95, of 65 Dorsey Avenue, was called home by Jesus Friday, April 20, 2007, at Margaret Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville, N.C.

Born in Young Harris, Ga., he was the husband of Ella Land Daniel and the son of the late C. Oscar and Lula Brown Daniel.

Mr. Daniel served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the South Pacific. He played in the military band and later a local band in Greenville. He was retired from Wagner Systems after 55 years of service and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by six brothers and six sisters and was the last surviving member of his family.

Funeral services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m., before the service. Burial will be in Graceland West Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon St., Greenville, SC 29605.
