Frank received his B.A. in 1958 from Moravian College and his J.D. in 1965 from Catholic University School of Law. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962, earning the rank of First Lieutenant.
Frank was a founding partner of the law firm Maloney, Danyi Goodman, Hensel and Center from 1969-1978. In 1979, Frank and Thomas J. Maloney co-founded the law firm of Maloney and Danyi, currently named Maloney, Danyi and O'Donnell. Frank proudly served in the community in numerous professional, religious and civic activities. He was a member of the Northampton County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He served on the Bethlehem Township Board of Commissioners (Solicitor, 1968-1990), the Northampton County Prison Board from 1968-1990), Bethlehem Township Municipal Authority (Solicitor, 1970-2017), Borough of Freemansburg (Solicitor, 1976-1998), Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School Board (Solicitor, 1976-1987), Bethlehem Area School District (Solicitor, 1978-1988), St. Luke's University Health Network (Trustee, 1980-2008, Vice Chairman, 1990-1995 and Chairman, 1995-1998), Totts Gap Board of Directors (Trustee and Vice Chairman, 1981-2004), and Northampton County Bar Association (Board of Governors, 1984-1988, Fee Dispute Committee Chairman, 1978-1998).
Frank was ordained and served the Diocese of Allentown as a Permanent Deacon from 1995 until retirement. He served at SS. Cyril and Methodius Parish in Bethlehem and Holy Family Parish in Nazareth. Highlights included baptizing his grandchildren, performing the marriage of his son and serving as Retreat Master at numerous retreats. Frank was an avid golfer and shot a hole in one at Northampton Country Club on June 17, 1978, and one below par at Saucon Valley Country Club in 1983 on the Weyhill Course at Saucon Valley. He was a fan of wrestling and enjoyed attending matches at Lehigh, the Easterns and Nationals. Frank was a kind and gentle, soft-spoken man with a great sense of humor, loved and respected by many.
Survivors: Frank is survived by his wife, Lillian L. Danyi; son, Attorney Kevin Danyi and his wife, Rachel; daughter Dr. Georgine Danyi, wife of Attorney Scott Heckman; and son, Garen Danyi and wife, Michele; along with six grandchildren, Frank III, Elisabeth, Alysse, and Anthony Danyi and Meredith and Lara Heckman. He is also survived by brother, Ronald Danyi and wife, Jennifer.
Services: A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 410 West Center Street, Nazareth, PA 18064. Interment will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
