NILES - Stephen J. Danyi, 62, of 861 John St., died at 3:07 a.m. at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a heart attack.

He was born July 16, 1920, in Niles, a son of John and Martha Danyi. He lived here all his life.

He was employed as a superintendent for 44 years at National Gypsum Co. A member of St. Stephen's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Gemik, to whom he was married for 42 years; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Sandy) Hogan of Niles; three sons, Stephen of Girard, Richard of Minneapolis, Minn., and Dr. John of Columbus; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Strah of Youngstown, and Mrs. Dean (Emma) Yannucci, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Ross and MRs. Anna Evans of Niles; nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:15 a.m. Friday at the Church. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Holeton - Yuhasz Funeral Home. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.
