Wife of Leon S. Darling

"LAURENS Mrs. May B. Darling passed away at the home of her son, L. Stanley Darling, at 7:25 p. m. Sunday night. She had been in ill health for the past several years. Funeral services will be held at Book(h)out Funeral home at Oneonta Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Richard Lloyd, First Baptist church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Bookhout vault with burial in the Plains cemetery in the spring. Mrs. Darling was born February 1, 1871, daughter of Adelbert and Anna (Holbrook) Brown, at Andover. She was married to Leon S. Darling in 1900 and her husband died in 1929. Mrs. Darling lived in Oneonta for thirty years. Since the death of her husband, she had spent summers with her son and winters with her daughter, Mrs. Anna Olson, Chappaqua. She was a member of the First Baptist church and the Cooperstown Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Darling is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Anna Olson; a son, Stanley Darling; two grandsons, Robert Stanley Darling of Laurens, and Leon Spencer Olson of Chappaqua."
